"Orbea Brothers" was established by the year 1860, and its founders were Juan Manuel Mateo, Casimiro and Petra Orbea Murua. It was one of the most famous factories of its time and the first to install electricity in 1890. Following the familiar split that occurred in 1926, part of the family retained the firm "Orbea and Company" for production bicycles and other -dedicated to cartuchería- settled in Vitoria under the name "Sons of Orbea S.
