"Orbea Brothers" was established by the year 1860, and its founders were Juan Manuel Mateo, Casimiro and Petra Orbea Murua. It was one of the most famous factories of its time and the first to install electricity in 1890. Following the familiar split that occurred in 1926, part of the family retained the firm "Orbea and Company" for production bicycles and other -dedicated to cartuchería- settled in Vitoria under the name "Sons of Orbea S. C". In the 50's, the factory began manufacturing eibarresa the "Velosolex". The cycling team "Orbea" had among its riders Julián Berrendero and Luciano and Ricardo Montero currently Turned cooperative, in 1975 moved to Mallabia, current home of the legendary factory.





GAC Mobylette 20"

" GAC " (Garate, Anitua and company) , registered in 1892 , was created by the heirs of Crispin Garate and Jose Francisco Anitúa whom later Eulogio Anitua and Nemesio Astaburuaga joined them. GAC bought the patent of an Italian bike and as was customary at the time created its own cycling team including Jose Elortza " JoseEibar " and Mardaras. In 1951 , GAC was dedicated to the manufacture of the first " Mobylettes ", under the license of the French " Motobecane ". In 1974 moved to Abadiño .

"Beistegui Brothers" , Juan and Cosme Beistegui were its founders and initially they were making a type of gun "Mauser" which led them to the manufacturing of bicycles. It was in 1929 when they started in this activity and, like other manufacturers, said the sponsorship of cycling groups in order to open the market and publicize their products. In 1955, Beistegui began manufacturing motorcycles in 1959 and moved to Vitoria. Actuallly under the name of "Cycle Europe" in which are embedded the BCH, Peugeot and Gitane.
